A member asked:

I tested positive for chlamydia with symptoms (spotting between periods), but i have only used protection 100% of the time and my partners all tested negative - how is this possible?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Condoms reduce but do not eliminate risk of chlamydia or other STDs. Any surfaces touched by sexual secretions from an infected partner can transfer the germs. You got it from some positive person, regardless of their reported results.
