Why do i get immediate sharp, stabbing pain in my left shoulder within minutes of taking a sip of alcohol? i noticed the pain months ago and began pt without improvements. i recently made the connection that even 2 sips of beer will trigger pain?

Occasionally, people with stomach ulcers, Liver or spleen abscesses or Peritonitis can have what is called Kehr's sign which is a referred pain in the left upper shoulder due to irritation of the diaphragm. Alcohol can irritate ulcers, or Liver problems. See your Primary Care Dr for a full workup including labs and imaging. Avoid alcohol for now and note any other symptoms including abdominal pain
