The past month i was taking 25 mg of topamax for with weight loss. i now would like a more natural approach. i asked the nurse if i could stop this medication today and she said yes. do i need to wean off at such a low dose or can i abruptly stop?

Unless a doctor directs otherwise, because the drug is already at the lowest dose, a person can stop taking it without the need to more slowly lower the dose.
