Why you say you have HSV1 is not clear. If you have antibodies to the virus you could have has a primary infection in your mouth as a kid & never developed cold sores afterwards. HSV1 is also occasionally found in genital herpes infections. Risk of spread in any situation is highest when there are obvious sores. (wherever) Please go over the details with the doc who knows your case.
