I got prescribed ciprofloxacin in guatemala to treat diarrhea, nausea and lack of appetite ive had for a week. this was after taking a stool test which showed no presence of bacteria or parasites. is it advisable to take ciprofloxacin in this case?

Ciprofloxacin is often recommended to take along with oversee travel in case one develops traveler's diarrhea. Fortunately your stool culture was negative for enteric pathogens. Traveler's diarrhea isn't usually a serious issue. In my.opinion, if you're not troubled with severe diarrhea at this time, you could try stopping the ciprofloxacin& follow a soft,no harsh roughage diet until BMs improve.
