I am a carrier of sickle cell trait, my partner is a carrier of silent alpha thalssemia. i understand genetic counseling may be advised but im wondering if any docs here have insight. we are 11 weeks pregnant. can our child be affected?

Please follow up with genetic counseling. If you and the father are carriers of a disorder, there is some probability of an affected child. More likely they will be a carrier. More information though is required to offer guidance and insight.
