Probably not, as codeine is no longer recommended for cough control and is habit forming. Best will be to have work up for your nocturnal cough; acid reflux and postnasal drip are among the most common triggers.

Because of the risk of abuse of the opiates and promethazine in that medication, doctors are hesitant to prescribe it as first-line therapy for a cough. Instead, you should seek medical attention to determine the cause of the cough and get it treated. See your primary care doctor to start this process. good luck.
