You could see a neurologist to find out what the diagnosis is and if there is anything that would help resolve the issue. It may resolve on its own but if it doesn’t get better, then a neurologist would be the next step. Good luck!

Anatomically, your description raises a question of ulnar nerve dysfunction at the left elbow or wrist. This is likely more of an irritation at this point, and avoidance of leaning on your elbow may resolve this over several days. Increasing numbness, associated with finger weakness would prompt a visit to your doctor.
