Every case is different, but bacterial prostatitis often needs several weeks treatment. There's not much experience with linezolid for staph prostatitis, but it's an excellent antibiotic and should be effective. Probably you're in care of a urologist or infectious diseases specialist. If you remain in doubt, discuss with them; or request referral if not yet done. Good luck.

If the MRSA is sensitive to that antibiotic and you take the full course of the antibiotic, you are likely to get rid of the infection and it is not likely to be recurrent. Good luck.

All the possibilities you mention can happen. We have no guarantees in medicine as in life. Pl stay with the treatment and care of a Good Urologist and think positive. God willing you will be well. Wishing you well
