Dehydration, stasis+: Not drinking enough results in concentrated urine + concentrated calcium salts which prexcipitate from urine, form nucleus for further calcium salt to come out of solution, attach & stone enlrges. Urinary stasis with hydronephrosis promotes precipitation & stone formation. Too much calcium in urine (hypercalcuria) major cause. Xs urinary uric acid or oxalate & low citrate all promote stones.
