A member asked:

Why does utrogestan vaginal cause blood clots, heart issues etc? they say progesterone is safe. but clearly not :( on 200mg twice a day for 7 days. day 1. feel tired. pain comes and goes in right leg. had pain previous to this but worried its clots?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Both progesterone and estrogen, which are female hormones, can cause blood clots. There is the same warnings with any birth control pills. Are blood clots common. No, but they are a possible side effect. Because you had the pain previous to the use of the medication, it is very unlikely to be a clot. Feeling tired is due to the progesterone and very common.
