There are other factors that play in here-including a family history of colon cancer. You should see a GI doctor since you have had a change in your stools and you are having the other symptoms you describe. A GI doctor can evaluate you, including a colonoscopy, to be certain there is nothing worrisome going on. Polyps would not show up on a CT scan so a colonoscopy would be needed to see these.

Although colon cancer does not usually cause symptoms such as soft stool, belching, and bloating, it is important to determine the cause of the symptoms. If your symptoms persist for more than a week or two, see your primary care doctor or a gastroenterologist to begin the evaluation for your symptoms. Good luck.
