Is it safe to use benadryl everyday for allergies? i tried zyrtec and claritin but they did not help me like benadryl does?

The danger of Benadryl is that it may make people more sleepy and affect reaction time and that makes it important that you evaluate your activities of the day to make sure you do not get to be unsafe after taking Benadryl otherwise if it works better for you then use it. You may also want to see what in your environment may be causing your allergies so you could reduce your exposure.

It is always recommended that you do not use Benadryl every day. Benadryl can cause drowsiness and less attentiveness and there is some association when used daily with risk of Alzheimer's. Also, if you use Benadryl to help you sleep, other medication is preferable. What would be best to try is using Zyrtec or Claritin daily and giving a little lower dose of Benadryl as needed.
