Don't.: You may want to get an assessment by a therapist specializing in addictions or an addiction medicine md. Why are you taking xanax (alprazolam) at 7 am? And why, at that early hour, would you be thinking of how long you need to wait to have a drink? Perhaps I am not understanding the whole picture, but this sounds like there may be a problem.
