Maybe: If you are outside the 7-day window after your period started, then you have to wait a month before you consider yourself "covered" for birth control: use a second method like condoms. If you are 2 weeks after you period started, then don't even get the shot. Ideally, you should get the shot in the first couple of days after starting your period.
