A member asked:

I'm taking ferrous fumarate iron 330 mg twice a day for iron deficiency and my stool is not dark or black, does that mean my body is not absorbing the iron?

Iron absorption is a complex process that depends on various factors, including the form of iron ingested, the presence of other nutrients, and individual differences in gut microbiota. The color of stool is not always a reliable indicator of iron absorption, as other factors such as diet and medication use can also affect stool color. Ferrous Fumarate is an easily absorbed form of iron.
