This is a puzzling post. Viral middle ear infections don't have fluid and don't respond to antibiotics. Bacterial middle ear infections are triggered by germs feeding on middle ear mucus, fluid level or not. Any bacterial middle ear infection can muffle hearing for weeks after initial meds kill off the germs.
