It depends on how severe your discomfort is. It is normal to be a little sore after a colonoscopy and this typically improves within a day or two. If it is more severe than that, you should call your GI doctor. Good luck to you!

Although some people do feel a little bit of discomfort after a colonoscopy, primarily from passing excessive gas, you should not have any severe pain or discomfort. If your symptoms are more than just an annoyance, you might want to get in touch with the G.I. doctor to be sure you’re all right. Good luck.
