If this is your first visit to an OBGYN for pregnancy, at such a late date they would still want to verify that you are pregnant. I have cared for a patient every one assumed was pregnant until they realized the mass was a a tumor, too late to treat successfully. I would not assume you know all the factors that go into their decisions.
