A member asked:

Can a yeast infection last up to a year if not treated? or would it have to be constantly reoccurring and if so what are symptoms or signs of a yeast infection reoccurring?

The main symptoms of vaginal yeast infection are itching and irritation, with little if any discharge which usually is. thick and white. Many women carry yeasts normally in the vagina; in that sense it persists continually. But symptoms usually don't last a year. When symptoms are present, treatment with an "azole" vaginal cream or insert is effective; or single dose fluconazole by mouth.
