I had a massage yesterday and the massage therapist massaged my temples extremely hard. it was quite painful. my temples are now swollen and feel bruised. i feel pressure in my temples and i have a mild headache. is this normal or has he done damage?

No persistent damage but obviously the masseur did not do a good job and I wonder why didn't you feel significant discomfort at that time. You can apply cold pack to those areas and the symptoms should resolve within 24-48 hours. Remember, a good massage should be comfortable and enjoyable feeling, not tender and pain during and afterward. Take care.
