If your nose is numb and the back of your throat is numb, you really shouldn’t feel anything more than some pressure sensations. You will need to swallow a couple of times so the scope passes into your esophagus and once that’s done, you may feel some pressure but nothing painful. Or, they can also give some mild sedation so that you’re a bit more relaxed. Good luck!

You should discuss this with your gastroenterologist before your next procedure. There are multiple options of numbing sprays, sedation, and other maneuvers which can make the procedure easier. If your doctor is aware, they can work with you. Good luck.
