It does not sound as low as it is infected. If you notice that the redness worsens, or if you develop pus, discharge, or high fevers, then you should see your doctor. It is likely that this will heal on its own. Good luck.

Basically agree with the first answer; however, I would not wait for a fever. If the redness, swelling, and warmth increases or remains, please contact your doctor as it may be infected. Meanwhile, keep the area clean and dry and apply some bacitracin (topical antibiotic) to the area.
