A member asked:

Can severe pcos in ovaries lead to ovaries damaged/need to be removed?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

"PCOS" may reflect degrees of cysts in the ovaries secondary to incomplete ovulation, and the treatment is oral contraceptives to avoid sustained estrogen production from the ovaries (without ovulation) which can have negative effects on the lining of the uterus (endometrium). See your GYN physician for guidance and treatment with oral contraceptives.
