Soothing sore throat: Many times, when your child is sick, the best thing you can do is soothe and treat their symptoms while their body heals. For sore throat, try cool liquids, a vaporizer and Acetaminophen or ibuprofen. For coughs, use nasal saline drops or spray, a vaporizer, elevate the head of the bed and give plenty of fluids. Most cough medicines do very little to stop coughing!
