Rhumatoid factor iga came back positive 52 (ref 0-20) where as rf igm 3 (ref 0-20) and rf igg 6 (ref 0-20) is negative . no rhumetologic symptoms but test performed as part of ulcerative colitis blood work up. why rf iga is positive? crp, esr all ok?

What is confusing about RF IgA is that it can be elevated in healthy people and normal in patients with actual RA. Since all the other mentioned tests are normal, I don't think you have RA. However if you have characteristic symptoms & signs of it,I'd have to abide by the opinion of your rheumatologist on this matter.
