Have a quarter sized patch of hair that fell out recently on beard. first visit to new derm she gave me a steroid injection and is suggesting a few more injections with her. this seems like a lot. is this the norm for a small patch of a beard? ty?

It is not unusual that steroid injections are needed every 2 weeks at least three times to prevent recurrent hair loss in your condition which is called alopecia aerata .
