A member asked:

The clinical picture of my migraine despite the fact that i have been under the care of a headache centre and am taking monoclonal antibody therapy has worsened considerably and so my doctor has suggested that i see a psychiatrist. is ok?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Migraine is a hereditary disorder involving inordinate sensitivity of neurotransmitters to a variety of triggers. Sometimes, emotional situations can act as stimuli to provoke a sequence of increasing headaches. If you have developed a chronic daily pattern, without an obvious issue, such as analgesic overuse, a search for an alternative explanation would be reasonable.
