A member asked:

Are diagnoses ever made in the absence of an office visit, when the patient was not seen?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not typically, although when a patient calls their doctor who knows them and the patient gives them the symptoms, sometimes the doctor understands the diagnosis from that information but it is not something that can be billed to insurance.
