You probably have bacterial vaginosis; metronidazole is the usual treatment. Probably your doctor intends the fluconazole to prevent vaginal yeast infection, which can be triggered by metronidazole. It is atypical to treat yeast before causes symptoms, but it's appropriate if NuSwab also showed yeast, or if you've previously had yeast triggered by antibiotics. Confirm with the doctor if any doubt.
