I am glad you saw ENT doctor, and I think they talked to you about ringing in the ear being due to many things including the fact that some medications may even cause it. I mean cleaning the ears does not mean anything to the symptoms if the cause of it, like affectation of the nerves or the inner ear problem, is not appropriately addressed.
