A member asked:

Hi there, i am a 22yr old male with no significant past medical history and at an optometrist today, they found a small red spot on my retina along a blood vessel - could this be a microaneurysm? can that be normal in someone of my age?

What does the optometrist say it is? If the optometrist is unsure of what it is, you should see a retina specialist. Retina pictures can be taken to see it more clearly. It is not possible to diagnose it without seeing it. So, see a retina specialist to get it evaluated. Good luck to you!
