2 urine pcr tests showed enterococcus faecalis at about 5500 pcr value. symptomatic with near constant urge to urinate for past 8 weeks. no other symptoms. regular urine cultures only showed good bacteria. should this be treated with antibiotics?

Also follow-up testing will remain positive as it continues to detect the bacterial end products. In view of your symptoms, I would empirically prescribe a course of ampicillin if you're not allergic to penicillin.

your symptoms are indicative of an infection. Suggest repeat a clean ctch mid-stream urine culture and see a Urologist. In the meantime drink plenty of water
