Ive had pulse in my abdomen which apparently is linked to my aorta, now ive the feeling in my side between the rib and hip. last time had an abnormal heart beat - now gone, ive had this isolated before; couldve been coincidence, more likely a spasm?

The discomfort doesn't fit with a spasm. Generally pain emanating from the abdominal aorta is referred to the midline in the back or front of the abdomen. For peace of mind, an ultrasound of the abdomen is a simple test which will show abnormalities of the aorta.
