I was reading on internet a lot and hpv is very confusing why do they say you clear the virus if you have it for life and that your infectious for life it makes no sense shouldn't they just say life long?

The chickenpox virus is a cousin & example of what happens with HPV. You clear the initial infection but the virus can hibernate in a dormant state in the body , to later emerge as shingles decades later. HPV will clear the initial infection/contagious period in most in 2 years. It can emerge is SOME people and become contagious or trigger the changes of genital cancer. Its how the germ behaves.

Stay away from the internet for medical knowledge as you will get confused like right now.. The body immune system has the capacity to clear the virus -but it does not happen in all so it can also be life long
