Can jock itch and inverse psoriasis look very similar? i have developed a red rash that has now spread across most of my scrotum (the actual sack not the thighs) and it is peeling and flakey. dermatologist thinks psoriasis, pcp disagrees?

They can both cause itchy, red skin in the groin area. But some nuances help tell the two conditions apart. Whereas a rash caused by inverse psoriasis will be smooth and often shiny, one caused by jock itch is typically accompanied by peeling or flaking skin. So you have sought care and already seen a dermatologist. Please go back and get the answer to your problem.

The ideas is to get better. So take the treatment prescribed by your dermatologist and see if you get better. Next time you see a doc ask questions about the illness- why, how and about the treatment given- reason, duration side effects
