I just had surgery under general anesthesia (not oral surgery) and now the tip of my tongue is numb and my lower lip is beginning to feel a bit funny. the surgery was almost a week ago and there's been no improvement. how long before i can feel?

I ask what kind or surgery you were having, these symptoms may be the result of the intubation equipment. Might I suggest you call the doctors that treated you and ask them what they feel might have caused this effect.

Return to the practitioner that did your non-oral surgery. He/she is responsible for your post-surgical care. You may need refrrral to a neurologist. Also, numbness may her coincidental, not related to the surgery. Call for an immediate reevaluation appointment.
