Menses in the first year is often erratic with variable flow. Many are not releasing eggs at the beginning, which is important to setting a normal paced cycle. Skipped menses usually means an estrogen dominated system that builds for wks/months before breaking down with heavy or prolonged bleeding.After 6m/1yr it usually self regulates. Your doc can confirm it if desired.
