NOT to worry!: This may be a "one time" event...and if not may represent an ill-defined set of symptoms called "peri-menopause" ...In any case .if it is repeated or "irregularity" becomes "common" ..check it out A hormonal "D&C" may help restore your regular periods. Hope this helps! Dr Z

Getting close to: perimenopause may explain this as getting older women may experience menstrual irregularites due to hormonal changes. This also could be due to stress or some other things like change in the diet, or taking a medication an illness. If this is one time event do not worry about it if it becomes more frequent then seeing a gynecologist is appropriate.
