A member asked:

How long does wheezing from bronchitis last?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

This depends upon the severity of the bronchial infection causing the bronchospasm. I've had to treat severe asthmatic bronchitis in the hospital for an average of 7-10 days. Treatment consisted of appropriate antibiotic, inhalation therapy with bronchodilators & corticosteroids as well as strong doses of systemic corticosteroids. However, most cases can be treated as an outpatient.
