The transverse sinus is part of venous structure that collects blood form the brain and drains to the jugular. A diminutive sinus means the vein is congenitally smaller than typical. There is a lot of normal variation in the transverse sinuses in terms of size and drainage pattern, and these variations usually cause no issues. Interestingly, the left transverse sinus has more normal variation.
