A member asked:

How long after an exposure can one be confident in their hiv negative results?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

With antibody test 3rd generation, only 0.3 % of tests are false negative after 3 months. With 4th generation test, a negative test after six weeks is conclusive. A negative test at 6 weeks means you do not have HIV. Until you expose yourself, you do not need testing. I hope you be careful from now onwards. Good Luck.
