Think of the process as pausing egg release. The meds make your body think you are pregnant ( during which women don't release eggs) so they remain on standby to resume in the future. You should return to baseline fertility when you stop the BC. It may take a few weeks/months to resume but it is not like our chicken eggs that go bad if not used on time.
