Normal urine can contain harmless sediment , but slimy consistency would be from mucus secreted from prostate or urethral structures. Too much mucus would suggest presence of inflammation/infection. In this case a urinalysis with microscopic examination of the sediment and a urine culture& colony would be recommended for evaluation.

Dehydration causes dark urine and less urine volume, not slimy urine. If the urine is slimy at times, the cause is likely due to heavy ureteral discharge. If there is not other symptom, you are fine. Take care.

The best way to find out what this represents is to send a urine sample to the lab for a urinalysis. This will help diagnose the problem since anything abnormal in the urine will be defined. If it is a hydration issue, that will be diagnosed. So, have your doctor order a urinalysis. Best of luck to you!

Yes it could be mucus or the secretions from the glands lining the lower urinary tract. Drink plenty of water and if not clear in a few days pl see a Urologist for evaluation
