Home to rest.: If your child has a fever and runny nose, they are most likely suffering from a viral illness. Antibiotics are likely not needed. Keep them home to rest away from other children as they are likely contagious. Once the fever is gone for a full 24 hours without fever reducing medicine like tylenol, (acetaminophen) they can return to school or daycare. Contact your pediatrician with concerns.
