HPV strains are specific to the sites they infect and the way they act. The 7+ strains that are associated with cervical and other cancers do not produce warts. They are considered the high risk strains. The wart strains are not associated with cancer and are considered low risk. Given that a person is not immune from other strains when they get a wart strain, they can also get high risk strains
