Why does my 35 year old son get a pinching feeling under his chin when he moves his mouth in certain ways? there is no pain, swelling or lump there, just the pinching feeling. sometimes it goes away for a while but then it comes back,is this serious?

If there's no tenderness or swelling this rather vague symptom could be from an irritable superficial nerve or muscle. If he still has concerns a physician or ENT specialist would have to examine him in order to advise him.
