Exercise after STEMI: After a stemi, (the more serious form of heart attack), can re-start (or should start) exercising. Both resistance (weight lifting) & aerobic exercises are beneficial, with the latter being more beneficial after a heart attack. After considering multiple variables, your internist/cardiologist will determine when & what type of exercise you can/should engage in. Regardless, baby steps is the rule.
