I have a pain on the left side can this be my appendix?

The position of the appendix on the left side is exceedingly rare but it has been reported. Most pain on that side originates in the sigmoid colon or other structure. Only a formal evaluation can sort out a cause.

Most commonly pain is located in the right lower abdomen, however it can start in other abdominal areas including left side in rare cases. Whenever there is suspicion for appendicitis, a timely exam should follow as complications of undiagnosed/untreated abdominal infections may become life threatening.
