Has a newborn an ability to cry during bath if bath water is too hot?

Babies often cry when bathed just because the activity is "different" and they want to protest. They will cry when injured, but how to differentiate that cry from the just mad cry is hard to determine. Some mothers say they can separate the two types of cry.

Test bath water first beforehand. Set water heater to a lower setting. The bathwater should be lukewarm. Babies cry for a number of reasons, but they do respond to pain by crying.
